Redmi 10 Prime goes on sale in India for the first time today at 12pm IST via Amazon and official Xiaomi outlets. The smartphone was launched in India last week and is offered in two RAM + storage configurations. Redmi 10 Prime comes with a 90Hz refresh rate display, a quad rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor, and a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. The newly launched smartphone seems to be a slightly reworked version of the Redmi 10 that was launched globally last month.

Redmi 10 Prime release date

The Redmi 10 and Redmi 10 Prime smartphones went on sale in China on March 23. The Redmi 10 Prime sale in India is for the first time today, and it has been promoted heavily by Xiaomi and the e-commerce giant. The sale is live in the country at 12pm IST via Amazon and Xiaomi India. The new Xiaomi smartphone's price in India starts at Rs. 10,999 for the 2GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage variant. On the other hand, the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage model will cost Rs. 12,999, and the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model is priced at Rs. 14,999. Both variants come in Lunar Grey and Aurora Blue colour options. Buyers will be able to buy the Redmi 10 Prime through Mi.com and Flipkart. The smartphone comes with a Rs.

The smartphone comes with the usual accessories including USB to Type-C cable, headset, adapter, SIM ejector tool, and the standard manuals. You also get a clean USB-C cable, a one-time screen wipe, a tempered glass, and a soft TPU case in the box. Hardware and sensors

Redmi 10 Prime sports a 6.18-inch HD+ (720x1520 pixels) IPS display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a waterdrop notch. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, paired with either 3GB of 4GB of RAM. It offers a 3400mAh battery and runs Android Oreo-based MIUI 9.6.2. While the phone is based on Android 8.1 Oreo, Xiaomi has promised Android Pie support for the phone. The Redmi 10 Prime also has dual-SIM card slots, with support for a MicroSD card for expandability. The handset features a dual rear camera setup. The primary camera module has a 12-megapixel sensor, with an f/1.8 aperture, and 1.4-micron pixels. The 5-megapixel secondary sensor has an f/2.2 aperture. On the front, it sports a 5-megapixel camera sensor with an f/2.2 aperture.

 

Camera performance

Redmi 10 has a 13-megapixel+5-megapixel rear camera setup with dual-LED flash support. The primary lens has 1.25um pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, and LED flash support, while the 5-megapixel secondary sensor has f/2.2 aperture. On the front, the smartphone has a 20-megapixel selfie camera with AI-based beautification capabilities. As mentioned, the main camera has an f/1.8 aperture, while the selfie camera has a f/2.0 aperture. Redmi 10 runs MIUI on top of Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. Redmi 10 supports AI-based face unlock feature as well, and supports both single and multi-face unlock modes. The phone also supports face unlock in dark lighting conditions. The Redmi 10 is priced starting at CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 10,500) for the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage variant, and CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs. 12,000) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. You can buy the Redmi 10 Prime too at these price points. However, you can't buy both the variants of the Redmi 10 Prime together in India. The Redmi 10 Prime price in India starts at Rs. 11,999 for the variant with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM, and goes up to Rs. 12,999 for the top-end variant that has 6GB RAM and 64GB storage.
